On May 18th 2017, the Fifth "Beijing Institute of Technology-Swinburne University of Technology Symposium” was held in BIT. This Symposium was consisted of four sub-forums: Mechatronical Engineering and Control, Software and Computer Science, Optoelectronics and Physics and Engineering Education Management and Internationalization. More than 100 academics and students from Beijing Institute of Technology and Swinburne University of Science and Technology attended this academic forum.

During the Symposium, Swinburne delegates also visited relevant key laboratories, research centers and engineering training center in BIT. This bilateral forum further deepened the cooperation between BIT and Swinburne University.
